As a representative and advocate for the 11th District of Virginia, I stand before you today to stress the utmost importance of casting your vote and reminding others to do the same this Election Day. As each day goes by, it has become incrementally clearer that our Democracy thrives when we actively participate in the electoral process, and this primary election is no different for the future of our beloved Commonwealth.

At stake in 2023 are a multitude of critical Democratic issues that directly impact many lives. The individual rights of Virginians are at risk because of incremental stripping of core reproductive, voting rights and more throughout legislatures in our nation. More than ever, our economy and political stability faces unprecedented challenges still lingering from the impact of a devastating COVID-19 pandemic. Republican actors, such as Glenn Youngkin, want nothing more than to further limit and ban Democratic values.


That’s why I am calling on every Virginian today, to vote, so Democrats can continue to defend your civil liberties and rights from further acts of Republican suppression. It is essential that we maintain control of the Virginia State Senate, and regain control of the Virginia House of Delegates, both institutions imperative to keeping Virginia blue and democratic. It is only then, can us Democrats continue to support and uphold the rights and lives of Virginians.


I implore you to vote, and engage in your civic duty bestowed under our American Democracy. Make sure to vote at the polls today, and for those of you with mail-in ballots, make sure to have them postmarked today.
