Tell the EPA: BAN DCPA!
TAKE ACTION

This is big, friend,
A few weeks ago the EPA finally acknowledged that DCPA, sold under the trade name Dacthal, a pesticide widely detected on kale, poses a serious risk to human health, especially during pregnancy.
The EPA is now considering a ban on all uses of this dangerous chemical, which has been sprayed widely on U.S. food for decades.
Just a few weeks ago, the agency opened up a comment period for the public to weigh in on DCPA, but we only have until July 3, 2023, to make our voices heard. This may be our last chance to convince the EPA that DCPA should be banned!

Multiple studies over the years have shown that DCPA is likely to harm human health. The EPA’s own scientists classified it as a possible human carcinogen in 1995, and the new data in the EPA’s assessment shows that DCPA can harm the developing fetus in animals exposed even to very low doses.
EWG has been raising the alarm on DCPA for years, but it continues to be used in the U.S. on kale, broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, onions and other crops. EWG analysis of USDA data found DCPA on 60 percent of kale samples.
We have a short window of opportunity to convince the EPA to ban the use of this dangerous pesticide, but we know Big Ag will do everything in its power to keep on spraying. Can we count on you to add your name to EWG’s petition calling on the EPA to ban DCPA? Remember, we only have until the end of the comment period on JULY 3 to make our voices heard.
