The story is just breaking. We need to respond quickly.? ? ? ? ? This story is still developing? The Trump administration has just announced its official federal budget proposal for the year. It includes a 26% cut to the EPA and deep cuts to National Parks programs at the Interior Department.

The Trump administration has singled out programs that help reduce lead and radon as well as programs for clean water in disadvantaged communities. Communities of color have always been hit harder by the impacts of pollution, climate change, and inequitable environmental policy. Trump's latest budget proposal will make this a lot worse.

We need your help. Trump doesn't set the budget alone ? these cuts are going to spark a huge showdown in Congress. We need every member of Congress hearing from their constituents. To make that happen, we need to organize in a major way.

A donor has just agreed to triple match every donation to this campaign through the end of the month

We CAN block Trump's budget, friend. Please: Make a triple-matched gift to LCV today ? even $5 is enough to make a difference ? [link removed]

? ? BREAKING: TRUMP TO CUT BILLIONS FROM EPA's BUDGET

The Trump administration's budget will cut the EPA by 26% and goes after parks programs in the Interior Department. We can't let this stand ? but we need your help.

Among the programs on the chopping block is the Superfund program that cleans up hazardous waste sites, despite the largest backlog of waste cleanups in 15 years. The popular Energy Star program that measures the efficiency of electronics is also at serious risk.

I want you to know ? we have a real shot at blocking these cuts. This IS a fight we can win. We have an environmental majority in the House, which means Trump can't simply steamroll whatever priority he wants.

But there's a real risk here, too. By proposing such deep cuts, Trump is trying to carve out an initial negotiating position where even meeting him halfway would essentially decimate the agency that protects public health and our environment. We need to act quickly to make sure Congress doesn't accept ANY cuts to programs that protect our environment.

Pulling that off will require organizing in a big way. We have teams meeting with staff on Capitol Hill now. But we need to ramp up grassroots efforts, too ? getting constituents calling and visiting offices and flooding inboxes with letters. Right now, that requires resources we don't have.

Can we count on your support? Thousands of people from all over the country are pitching in with $5, $10, $20 donations ? some becoming LCV members for the very first time, and many making monthly contributions to help fight back. Anything you can pitch in can make a huge difference right now.

We need to raise $100,000 by the end of the month to keep our work going strong. If everyone reading this right now pitched in, we'd blow through that goal in minutes. Remember ? a donor is offering a triple match, so your contribution goes even further than usual if you give today.

Triple your impact: Join the fight TODAY. We won't win without your help ? [link removed]
