The Biden Administration Must Investigate Potential Violations of US Law Dear Email, In a brazen show of force, Israeli soldiers descended upon the Jenin refugee camp this morning, employing U.S.-made Apache helicopters, live ammunition, stun grenades, and toxic gas. This assault resulted in the tragic deaths of five Palestinians, including a 15-year-old boy, and left at least 91 people wounded. One glaring question that arises from this horrifying incident is whether these U.S.-made Apache helicopters and other weapons were used in this assault, which might be a violation of the Foreign Assistance Act and the Leahy Law Amendment. Under these U.S. laws, our government is prohibited from providing military assistance to foreign military units that violate human rights with impunity. TAKE ACTION: Click here now to send a message to President Biden and Secretary Blinken: demand they immediately investigate and condemn the use of U.S. weaponry in the recent assault in Jenin. This raid is not an isolated event but rather part of an alarming escalation in violence against the Palestinian people by Israeli forces. Even journalists reporting from the ground were not spared and were targeted by the Israeli forces during the raid. Palestinian officials reported that Hazem Nasser, a journalist with Al-Jazeera, was rushed to the hospital after being wounded by Israeli gunfire during the raid as he took cover. Instead of addressing the root causes of Israel’s occupation and apartheid, Bezalel Smotrich, Israel's finance minister, publicly called for "a large-scale operation across the [occupied] West Bank." This insidious endorsement of violence is indicative of the Israeli government's disregard for Palestinian lives. Demand our government condemns the use of U.S.-made weapons in the recent assault in Jenin and puts a halt to the potential abuse of U.S. military aid to Israel in violation of our own laws HERE now. Change is only possible through engagement and action. We encourage you to register for this year's Palestine Advocacy Day (October 23rd-24th) to lobby your elected officials for Palestinian rights. Advancing Palestinian rights in the U.S. and giving the Palestinian people a voice they deserve in Washington, D.C., requires more than sympathy and empty words. We need tangible action. Push for this change by registering for Palestine in America: Change Through Engagement and Activism and join us in D.C. this October. Be sure to encourage your friends and family to do the same!
