John,
On this day 157 years ago, word of slavery’s abolition in the United States reached Galveston, Texas, and a tradition started. Today we call this celebration Juneteenth.
But we must remember that our nation continues to struggle with basic rights and opportunity for Black Americans. We’re still battling the shameful legacies of slavery, Jim Crow, housing segregation, voter suppression, the wealth gap, life expectancy and institutional racism.
This is a pivotal moment in our nation’s history, and we must take action. Let’s take that movement and build an America whose laws reflect the undeniable truth that Black Lives Matter.
Will you join us in honoring Juneteenth today by making a donation of $10 or more before midnight?

For over six years, we’ve been fighting day in and day out to Build Black Political Power and create a truly representative democracy — one that works for all Americans — and we hope you’ll agree with us when we say that this fight is more important than ever in 2023.
We know that our efforts make a difference. In 2022, we:
-
Invested over one million dollars into our endorsed candidates
-
Contacted 3.1 million low-propensity Black voters directly through our phone banking and text banking efforts and encouraged them to turn out to the polls
-
Supported 187 candidates on the Nov. 8th ballot, 107 of whom won their races
-
Powered 16 History-Makers to victory, including the first Black governor of Maryland and the first Black female mayor of Los Angeles
But here’s the thing: Our success relies on grassroots supporters like you, John.
We need dedicated supporters like you on our team as we head into one of the most consequential election cycles in our nation’s history for Black candidates and Black voters alike, so please consider making a donation today.
