Submit your intentions for Three Holy Masses June 25-27
Dear Friend,
Are you familiar with the Byzantine
Icon of Our Mother of Perpetual Help?
Devotion to Our Mother of Perpetual
Help (or Our Lady of Perpetual Help) began as early as the
13th Century. In 1866, Pope Pius IX granted permission to the
Redemptorists, the Religious Order founded by St. Alphonsus Liguori,
for the Icon to be enshrined in the Church of St. Alphonsus in Rome
and told the Redemptorists to “make her known throughout the
world.”
The June 27th feast day of Our Lady
of Perpetual Help is now only considered a historical feast, so it is
not on the Norvus Ordo liturgical mass calendar, although some
churches that offer the Traditional Latin Mass celebrate the feast.
However, this means that the majority of parishes do not recognize
this feast, so Holy Masses are not celebrated in honor of Our Lady
under this title. Throughout the centuries, countless miracles and
favors granted have been documented, especially after a visit to the
Shrines dedicated to Our Mother of Perpetual Help. Shrines are located
in the Philippines, which claims to be the largest in the world – also
in Rome, Chile, Brazil, Ireland, Poland, Singapore, Haiti and the US,
in Boston, Massachusetts.
Please join me in prayer for three
days invoking the intercession of Our Mother of Perpetual Help, from
June 25-27, which includes the feast day. SUBMIT YOUR
INTENTIONS for the Three Holy Masses beginning on June
25.
Together, let us Storm Heaven
during these three days, June 25-27, calling on Our Mother of
Perpetual Help, whose name inspires confidence; for she will help us
in all our necessities of body and soul.
