The Senate Redistricting & Elections Committee has updated the Omnibus Election Bill S 747, but it still does not include Poll Observers

or Cast Vote Records.

• H 770 Access to Voted Ballots (Cast Vote Records)

Ask members of the Senate Redistricting and Elections Committee to support NCEIT’s suggestion to include H772 on Poll Observers and H770 Access to Voted Ballots in S 747

Election Law Changes.

- The Observer bill is important to election integrity because permitted activities need to be defined, so the observer can perform their duties.

- Access to voted ballots is needed, so citizen analysts can view Cast Vote Records to match election results to the machine’s printed reports.

Who's up first and what to expect. Jim Womack will walk us through what each county needs to have in place.

2) Priority Legislation: Action Alerts to forward and call your county folks. Who's helping us and who's not. (Media attacks mean we're on target!)

3) Post Office updates. Same bad actors in BOE are running the PO.

4) Vulnerable Voters Task Forces Forming. Resources/Still need a state leader.

This week, we dive deep into the new proposal to change the State Board of Elections.

Ever since Gov. Roy Cooper took office, the General Assembly has been whittling away at his power. It’s a time-honored tradition in North Carolina politics, though an exhausting one.

This battle is back in a big way. Once again, the legislature is attempting to change the composition of the State Board of Elections — making the board evenly split between Republicans and Democrats and removing the governor’s office from the equation altogether.

There’s a strong argument to be made that this isn’t just a power grab, it’s actually good government. The bill is also well in line with how other states administer their elections.
