John, happy Juneteenth!
While the Emancipation Proclamation had been the law for two and a half years, it was not until this day, 158 years ago, that Union Troops arrived to enforce it in Texas and liberate more than 250,000 formerly enslaved people.
The ensuing celebration of Juneteenth became an annual commemoration of the end of slavery and has been celebrated since.
Today we proudly celebrate Juneteenth and liberation, but our work to empower and support Black, Indigenous, and other communities of color continues year-round.
Here at Movement Labs, we are dedicated to winning a future that works for everyone, and that starts with uplifting historically marginalized communities and giving them the resources they need to lead. Can you pitch in $10 to help us continue our movement for a diverse and inclusive future?

Through Contest Every Race, we’re proud to recruit diverse candidates for elections up and down the ballot and support the fight for meaningful representation in politics.
We’ve also worked with numerous Black-led and Black community-focused groups over the years, helping them recruit volunteers, organize events, and expand their power. Earlier this year, we expanded our grant program for these organizations, thanks to the help of grassroots donors like you.
As we continue the fight for equity for all, we know the real power behind our movement lies with regular people, not the rich and powerful who benefit most from the status quo or take us backward. Will you donate any amount today to help support the fight to finally establish liberty and justice for all?
