John, it's Juneteenth!
John, today is Juneteenth. A reminder of our complex history as a nation, as well as the strides we have made from Emancipation to the Civil Rights era and beyond.
When we reflect on today, we must be aware of the struggles and lived experiences that communities of color still face every day in our nation.
The fight for justice and equality continues as we confront socioeconomic disparities that impact communities of color at higher rates than other communities. We must know that police brutality, voting rights, and other issues are still a very real part of the antiquated systems that our country was built upon.
And we must fight for better, always.
