IT'S JUNETEENTH, MAKE IT COUNT!
We’re not usually a fan of Mondays, but we do love hyping up Juneteenth, the day commemorating when the last of the enslaved people in Texas learned they had gained their freedom (you know, only two years after The Emancipation Proclamation)! Don’t just post about it; take some time to donate to Black-led abortion and Reproductive Justice orgs, educate yourself on the significance of Juneteenth and its impact on Black communities. Heck, you can even decide to spend the day spending your money at a black-owned business in your area. All we ask is you join us in spending some time uplifting and amplifying the voices of Black folks in whatever ways you can.

Our Programs Department also couldn’t resist doing a little clinic support with our amazing local communities! Programs Director Max gathered Tennessee folks to assemble patient care packages, while Programs Manager Kristin spent a few happy hours with her crew filling out hundreds of abortion provider Thank Bank cards! NC: WORDS HAVE NO MEANING ANYMORE APPARENTLY?
North Carolina Rep. Tricia Cotham is apparently pretending the internet doesn’t exist anymore? Since her party switch and subsequent betrayal that ushered in an awful 12-week abortion ban, she is now claiming she didn’t actually have an abortion…after telling her story during a floor speech in 2015. Well, if we just get to say something didn’t happen even though it did, we also did not get stoned and eat an entire bag of Doritos by ourselves last night while watching trashy reality TV. So there. Make sure to check out our TikTok for all of the other things that definitely aren’t what they are!

IOWA: 29TH STATE, 1ST IN OUR HEARTS
Need some good news to put some pep in your step this week? Iowa has you covered! The state’s 6-week ban, which has been on hold since it was passed in 2018, will officially remain permanently enjoined after a 3-3 deadlock in the Iowa Supreme Court! We have a lot of words for Governor Kim Reynolds, who initially asked for the ban to be reinstated after Roe fell, but we’ll keep it simple: SUCK IT, KIM!

There is no better time than now to learn about and uplift Reproductive Justice, and SisterSong is going on tour in their home states to build up community and connect with others in the fight for reproductive freedom! You can find tour stops in several states, including a stop in Lexington, Kentucky on Tuesday, June 20th from 4 PM to 9 PM ET- registration link here!

ONE YEAR POST-ROE
This week will mark one full year since Roe fell, and y’all know the pro-abortion community cannot let an anniversary go without getting loud. If we tried to list every event, this email would just be an endless scroll; so instead, we’re just going to say check out the Activist Calendar to find an event near you on Saturday, June 24th!

Beyond just the Activist Calendar, we’d love to be able to send y’all relevant pro-abortion happenings in your own area, but we need your help updating your information! PLEASE HELP THIS CLINIC
On a heavier note in this post-Roe world, we’ve unfortunately seen an increase in clinic harassment and crime, most recently in Danville, Illinois. First, an anti-abortion extremist repeatedly rammed his car into the building, causing extensive damage (before he was able to successfully burn it down). Then only two weeks later, there was ANOTHER attack, where building repairs were torn down and they attempted entry. Y’all, this is fucked.
