As a young prosecutor in the Bay Area, I dealt with the trauma of gun
violence on a regular basis.
I have seen more autopsy photographs, attended more police officer
funerals, and hugged more mothers of homicide victims than I care to tell
you.
And one thing that I still cannot reconcile is the false choice to suggest
that you’re either in favor of the Second Amendment or you want to take
everyone’s guns away.
100 Americans are killed by a gun every day. That’s over 36,000 people
every year whose lives are cut short because a dangerous person was
allowed to get a gun.
Mitch McConnell and the NRA may be comfortable with this status quo, but
I’m done waiting for them to find their courage.
[ [link removed] ]We cannot wait any longer. I need you with me if we are going to create
real, lifesaving change. If you believe we need to change this country's
gun laws, will you add your name next to mine?

It’s unacceptable and embarrassing that we have a Congress who is so
beholden to the gun lobby that they allow these tragedies to happen month
after month.
We deserve leaders who will fight for us and stand up for our best
interests, not their own. Leaders who don’t quietly meet with the NRA
while turning their backs on gun violence survivors.
We deserve better and we will fight for it—together.

change this country’s gun laws >>
Thank you in advance for signing on,
