Team,
Today we come together to commemorate Juneteenth, the day that marks the end of slavery in the United States.
Juneteenth is a powerful reminder of the painful chapters of our past, but it is an opportunity to recognize the resilience and strength of the Black community. As your representative in the House, I am honored to have been a part of the historic vote to establish Juneteenth as a federal holiday.
As we pause to acknowledge our nation's scars and honor the courage of Black Americans and their immeasurable contributions to our nation, we must also remember that our journey toward equality is far from finished.
I hope you'll join me today and every day in recommitting to the pursuit of racial justice, guaranteeing that every individual is granted equal opportunities, respect, and dignity.
Thank you,
Chris
