Dear ,
As a Poynter supporter, you’re already a fan of facts. You care about the quality of the information ecosystem and its impact on our daily life and ultimately, on democracy itself.
It’s my honor to cordially invite you to join Poynter’s International Fact-Checking Network, along with hundreds of creators, consumers and champions of fact-based reporting – just like you– for the world’s biggest fact-checking summit, GlobalFact 10, from June 28-30.
This year’s summit is being hosted by Poynter in Seoul, South Korea, in partnership with our colleagues at Seoul National University’s fact-checking organization, SNU FactCheck.
Please register to attend remotely ([link removed]) .
Thanks to the generosity of the Seoul Tourism Organization, Poynter’s supporters and friends like you will get to attend GlobalFact 10 virtually for FREE.
Simply use code POFACTS100 at checkout to get your complimentary access. All sessions will be streamed live in Korea Standard Time and available for replay shortly after so that you may watch on the event platform at your convenience.
GlobalFact 10 is for everyone — IFCN signatories, fact-checkers, journalists, technologists, policy makers, community leaders, educators and citizens — who stand for truth and transparency in journalism and want to do their part to reduce the harm of misinformation worldwide.
Join us for three forward-thinking days with more than 50 sessions featuring 120 speakers and counting. You’ll hear from a world-class lineup of headliners ([link removed]) .
Dr. Eun-Ju Lee of Seoul National University will discuss her research around individual biases and how they impact fact-checking.
Jessikka Aro, a Finnish journalist and author, will share her experience covering Vladimir Putin’s internet trolls and ultimately becoming one of their targets.
And we cannot wait to hear Yoel Roth’s story. At Twitter, Roth led a 220-person organization responsible for Twitter’s content moderation, integrity and platform security efforts, and designed the strategy for the platform’s work to combat harmful misinformation. He will take viewers behind the scenes of Twitter during Elon Musk’s first weeks in charge and candidly assess how social media companies are faring in their fight against mis- and disinformation.
You can take part in conversations surrounding the critical role facts play in society, hear best practices with the industry’s brightest minds and spark meaningful discourse that improves public debate and connection.
