Dear Friend,

Thanks to your help, we are making great strides toward building a safe internet where kids can connect, learn, love, and thrive! There is so much to celebrate already this year.

Remember that all tax-deductible gifts will be matched this month!
Thank you for helping us protect children online.

CORPORATE ACCOUNTABILITY

When you link arms with us, we are able to spark change among some of the most powerful corporations in the world! Just a few examples of what's been achieved in the past year:

  • Parental Controls: Following several consultations with NCOSE, Snapchat released its first set of parental controls and Apple announced multiple improvements to its parental controls.
  • Defaulted safety features: After years of NCOSE advocacy, Meta defaulted numerous safety features for children to show them less inappropriate content, make their accounts more private, and decrease their risk of being connected to suspicious adults.
  • Pushing pornography off social media: In response to NCOSE advocacy, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube stopped acting as distribution partners for Pornhub.

PUBLIC POLICY

NCOSE is leading the charge in passing critical federal legislation to protect children online!

  • The EARN IT Act, a crucial bill designed to confront the explosion of child sexual abuse material online, was reintroduced in Congress and passed out of the Senate Judiciary Committee with a unanimous vote. A letter of support led by NCOSE was signed by a diverse coalition of 201 U.S. organizations across all states, and 59 survivor leaders.
  • We are also supporting the federal Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) which, among other protections, requires social media companies provide safeguards and tools for minors and parents, and enable the strongest safety settings by default .

LITIGATION

  • Our NCOSE Law Center is co-counsel on a groundbreaking lawsuit against Twitter on behalf of two boys who were sex trafficked on the platform. We are hoping to soon have the case heard by the U.S. Supreme Court! There, we would be able to get a definitive ruling removing the shield of immunity that Twitter and other Big Tech companies hide behind to facilitate and profit from sexual exploitation.

Thanks to your partnership, we are confident that the burden to protect kids online will no longer be the sole responsibility of overwhelmed parents! Big Tech and online sexual exploiters will be held accountable and no longer be able to avoid this problemthus making the internet safer for all!

Please consider making a tax-deductible gift today to continue this incredible momentum.
All online donations up to $50,000 will be matched!
