Recent Poll Indicates Trump Still Frontrunner in GOP

Townhall: Despite the Left’s never-ending political witch hunt against former President Trump, he remains the favored 2024 GOP candidate to take back the White House. According to a Marist Institute for Public Opinion poll, 64 percent of Republican and Republican-leaning voters said they would continue to support Trump if he remains in the race. More than half of Republican respondents— 76 percent— have a positive outlook on the 45th president, up from 68 percent in February. Although 73 percent say, Trump did something wrong, less than half believe he committed a crime (Townhall). Hill: When respondents are asked about a hypothetical matchup between Biden and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), it’s largely split – with 41 percent backing DeSantis and 40 percent backing Biden (Hill).

Biden, Fetterman Share Awkward Moments Speaking in Pennsylvania
Townhall: On Saturday, during a press briefing on the recent I-95 bridge collapse, Fetterman donned his trademark hoodie combined with workout shorts and sneakers to welcome the president of the United States to his turf. Meanwhile, Biden forgot where his hometown was, claiming he grew up in Pennsylvania— this, ladies and gentlemen, are the people representing the U.S. While speaking about the bridge collapse, Fetterman struggled to pronounce words such as “delegation” and “infrastructure” as he made a muddled one-minute statement (Townhall). Clay Travis: Guys, we just got John Fetterman introducing Joe Biden. It went exactly as you expected. If the Lincoln-Douglas debates represented the pinnacle of American democracy Biden-Fetterman represents the all time bottom (Twitter). RNC Research: Biden makes a bizarre joke to crickets in the audience, then asks, “Alright, where we going” (Twitter).

Joe Biden Discusses Handguns and Suggests Stabilizing Braces Increase Caliber of Bullet Used
Julio Rosas: President Joe Biden spoke out against stabilizing braces during a speech, in which he erroneously claimed putting a brace on a pistol makes it more dangerous because it increases the caliber the firearm shoots (Townhall). RNC Research: BIDEN: “Made it harder for people buy stabilized brief— braces. Put a pistol on a brace, it turns into a gun, makes it more, you can have a higher-caliber weapon, higher-caliber bullet coming out of that gun” (Twitter). Dana Loesch: This is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard a politician say about guns. A plastic brace on a gun does not change the CALIBER OF THE GUN or the rate of fire (Twitter).

Federal Judge to Look at Case Where Social Media Censored Covid Information
Wall Street Journal: A federal judge is set to decide whether the Biden administration’s efforts to stamp out disinformation online crossed a line into coerced censorship and, if so, what should be done about it. The case is among the most potentially consequential First Amendment battles pending in the courts, testing the limits on government policing of social-media content. Republican attorneys general of Missouri and Louisiana brought the lawsuit last year, alleging that the Biden administration fostered a sprawling “federal censorship enterprise” that pressured social-media platforms to scrub away dissenting views on everything from Covid-19 health policies to election security. Missouri v. Biden is among dozens of so-called censorship-by-proxy lawsuits challenging account suspensions, content removals and other suppression of social-media posts on First Amendment grounds (Wall Street Journal).

President Obama Suggests Government Use Digital Footprints to Track Those Spreading Misinformation
Townhall: Former President Obama wants the government to be able to track and hunt down Americans by their fingerprints if they dare spread so-called “misinformation.” During an interview with podcast host David Axelrod, Obama called for implementing “digital fingerprints” as a mandatory online requirement to combat misinformation. The Democrat suggested the government needs a way to track and identify people who spread so-called “misinformation” online. Obama referenced the Covid-19 vaccine igniting the need to combat so-called “misinformation” online. On the contrary, Obama has dabbled in his fair share of spreading “misinformation.” In 2013, Republicans deemed Obama the winner of having the “lie of the year” after promising Americans promise they would be able to keep their healthcare plans under the Affordable Care Act (Townhall).  Fox News: He suggested “digital fingerprints” to discern truth from misinformation. “And the need for us, for the general public, I think to be more discriminating consumers of news and information, the need for us to over time develop technologies to create watermarks or digital fingerprints so we know what is true and what is not true,” he said. “There’s a whole bunch of work that’s going to have to be done there, but in the short term, it’s really going to be up to the American people to kind of say” (Fox News).

Tim Scott Replies to Jabs from Obama of How Republicans Do Not Address Effect of Racism
Daily Wire: Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), a 2024 presidential candidate, rejected former President Barack Obama‘s critique of his view on race relations. Obama, the first black American to be elected president, said during a recent CNN podcast that voters should be skeptical of GOP candidates who lack a plan to address the consequences of hundreds of years of racism (Daily Wire). Recount: 2024 GOP candidate Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) reacts to Obama’s comments on him and race: “There’s no higher compliment to be attacked by President Obama … The truth of my life disproves the lies of the radical left” (Twitter).

Anheuser-Busch to Launch an Ad Campaign to Repair Damage Delt to Brand Name
New York Post: Brendan Whitworth, the US boss of Anheuser-Busch, said Bud Light’s parent company will cut checks to reeling wholesalers and distributors — but avoided apologizing for the Dylan Mulvaney fiasco. Whitworth said “the discussion surrounding our company and Bud Light has moved away from beer” as he announced a three-step plan to revive the tarnished brand on Thursday. The beer baron has yet to directly address the disastrous tie-up with the trans influence — which has led to boycott calls that have knocked Bud Light from its two-decade perch as America’s best-selling beer. Instead, he offered a financial olive branch from the Belgian-based beer giant that involves “investing to protect the jobs of our frontline employees” and launching a new ad campaign this summer that will tout the beer as “easy to drink, easy to enjoy” (New York Post). Daily Wire: Sales for Bud Light have fallen by more than 25% and its competitors have since seen a large increase in their sales. Other brands for Anheuser-Busch have also taken a significant hit, including Budweiser (-11.2%), Michelob Ultra (-6.5%), Busch Light (-5.2%), and Natural Light (-4.9%), according to numbers released late last month (Daily Wire).
