Friends, later this month we’ll mark one year since the Supreme Court’s ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization - the ruling that overturned Roe v. Wade.
But that ruling didn’t just overturn Roe.
For so many of us, the Dobbs ruling overturned our lives and our futures. It shattered the way we think about our bodies and our rights.
And it transformed how many of us engage in the political process. We saw truly incredible passion and action last November in the midterm elections - a direct result of the anger and fear that the Dobbs ruling created. Thanks to that action and those votes, we kept Democratic control of the Senate and came pretty darn close to holding the House, despite predictions of a major red wave across the board.
Now - as we’re watching state legislatures enact brutal and extreme abortion bans around the country - is the time to hold onto that passion and action.
So I have to ask: Are you with me in the fight for reproductive freedom? Add your name to my petition today if I can count on your support in this battle.
We may be over a year out from our next federal elections, but I can tell you that the folks who are trying to push extreme anti-choice and anti-abortion laws aren’t wasting a single moment of this time - so we can’t afford to, either.
I’m doing everything I can inside the House to fight for bodily autonomy and human rights - from pushing to codify Roe to reintroducing my reproductive and sexual health data privacy legislation, the My Body, My Data Act, which prevents our private data from being used against us.
But I need to know you’re by my side - not just next November, but right now.
Sign my petition to keep fighting for reproductive freedom and the right to access safe abortion care.
Thank you so much.
