Throughout my time in the Senate, I’ve been lucky enough to build some pretty exceptional friendships – one of those being with Senator Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin.

I value her friendship more than I can express. Not only is she one hell of a charades player (I’m convinced she’s the best in the Senate), but as the first openly gay Senator in our nation’s history, she’s done a lot of really incredible things for our LGBTQ+ community.

From protecting same-sex marriage through the Respect for Marriage Act, to creating legislation to collect data to get a better sense of how the health care crisis is affecting LGBTQ+ groups, she’s one of the Senate’s most outspoken LGBTQ+ advocates – and someone we need back in Washington next year.

It’s not just her fight for LGBTQ+ equality either. Senator Baldwin has been working tirelessly to address the issues that matter most to working families – lowering the cost of insulin and other prescription drugs, protecting Social Security and Medicare, and safeguarding healthcare access for veterans. I’m proud to have worked with her on these issues and am committed to making sure she’s able to continue this important work.
