Jack, let's just recap the past couple weeks, shall we?
-
The Supreme Court issued a stunning ruling to not completely destroy the Voting Rights Act, which many expected the right-wing supermajority on the court to do. Now, Alabama will have to redraw its congressional map, and Georgia, Louisiana, and other states may have to as well. This is genuinely huge news considering that Republicans hold a tiny majority in the House.
-
Kevin McCarthy got rolled by the extremist Freedom Caucus, who temporarily reduced McCarthy to speaker-in-name-only in protest for his debt ceiling deal with President Biden. It took days for the two sides to kiss and make up, but it was a humiliating reminder for McCarthy that he only plays second fiddle to the right-wingers and spawned countless damning headlines for Republicans.
-
Oh, and, no big deal or anything, but the twice-impeached former reality TV host who is de facto leader of the Republican Party got indicted on 37 (!!) felony counts for allegedly refusing to return classified materials to the government.
Republicans are taking a BEATING and it could set Democrats up for a very good 2024. We need to make sure we have the resources to hit the ground running next year to turn out every single voter in every single race up and down the ballot—it's the only way we're going to crush the ultra-MAGA movement and grind it into dust.
That's why I'm asking you to start a $5 monthly recurring contribution to Daily Kos right now. It's the single most powerful thing you can do to support our work to beat Trump, flip the House, and win key races up and down the ballot.
