Before we took the field in the Congressional Baseball Game this week, we passed a number of commonsense bills to address some serious issues in our country.

House Republicans delivered H.J. Res. 44, which counters the ATF's unconstitutional ruling regarding pistol braces. Folks who do not register their pistols and stabilizing braces are looking at jail time and fines. It’s nothing but a backdoor attempt at a national gun registry. Countless wounded veterans rely on pistol braces to exercise their 2A rights. This week we protected those rights.

We also passed legislation to halt President Biden’s pursuit to control every aspect of your life through costly regulations. Did you know that last year Biden proposed over $1 TRILLION in new regulations? That’s why this week House Republicans passed the REINS Act, which would require Congressional approval for any major rules proposed by the Executive Branch before they could be implemented. More red tape means more costs for small businesses and families. No longer will Biden be able to circumvent Congress and continue his tyrannical overreach.

Finally, we passed two bills protecting Americans' from blatant government overreach in the name of Biden's Green Energy Religion. Hurricane season began June 1st, and every year Americans rely on gas-powered generators and appliances during this time should they lose power. When Hurricane Florence rocked the Carolinas in 2018, there were an estimated 1 to 3 MILLION people without power. How many of them would not have survived if there was a senseless ban on their gas-powered appliances? That’s why this week we passed two bills to protect the gas stoves that millions of Americans rely on for cheap, reliable power. Common sense prevails!

This week, when we were not delivering meaningful legislation, Republicans took on the Democrats in the annual Congressional Baseball Game! Not only did we record ANOTHER big win this year, but our matchup raised $1.8 million for charity. While I won’t miss the 6 AM practices, I will always love participating in a truly good cause.
