John,
This Father’s Day and the day before Juneteenth, I’m grateful for my father’s ongoing support and his pro-Black activism. He’s been right there beside me, believing in me and in a better world.
My father taught me the meaning of public service, which is why I’m in Congress to truly serve people.
On the streets during the Ferguson Uprising as a community health nurse, I became an activist and was then asked to run for Congress. The uprising upended political complacency in this country and across the world, bringing racial justice to the forefront of public conversations.
That multi-racial, multi-generational movement transformed what we thought was possible for our communities. And I continue to bring that bold vision to Congress, to serve people who’ve struggled under oppressive systems. I know that together, we have the power to bring about the change our lives depend on.
Can you donate today to help carry on the struggle for liberation and racial justice, as we dismantle white supremacy together?
