No child should go hungry. Like us, you know that hunger is preventable. Yet children in Philadelphia experience food insecurity at a rate that is double the national average.

Free, healthy summer meals for Philly kids

During the summertime, kids who usually receive free and reduced-cost meals during the school year are at even greater risk of food insecurity.

Our Summer Meals resources help families overcome this challenge by ensuring kids 18 and younger can access free, healthy meals and snacks with no ID, no registration, and no proof of income required.

Philly kids need your support this summer. The Summer Meals Program lessens the challenge for families providing these extra meals for kids during the summer, but many families aren't aware of these resources and how to access them.

At the Coalition Against Hunger, we work to ensure kids get the nutrients they need during the summer by:

  • Operating a dedicated Summer Meals Hotline (215-770-4659) to share information about the Summer Meals Program and offer help finding nearby sites
  •  Hosting a searchable Summer Meals Site Map that is updated weekly to show all of the Summer Meals sites that are open to all children in our 5-county region (Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery)

Kids and their families rely on our Summer Meals resources to get the food they need during the summer months. Last year, our Summer Meals Hotline and Map were used twice as much as they were used in 2021 to connect kids to free, healthy meals and snacks.

Your generous support makes this important work possible.
