Hi John — it’s Hala. We’re in the middle of our big weekend of action today to turn out the voters we need to win our primary on Tuesday.
But here’s the bad news: Our field team is running out of funds and they need our help ASAP. If we can’t raise $2,304 more this weekend, we’ll have to pull back our resources during the most critical moment of this campaign.
I'm proud to have been a part of the work in our General Assembly that expanded Medicaid to over 500,000 people, abolished the death penalty, legalized marijuana, and ratified the Equal Rights Amendment.
But I know that we still have so far to go. As a single mother, I know what it's like to struggle to find adequate health insurance, housing, or a good job that pays the bills. And with far-right Republicans in Richmond right now determined to cut essential programs and ban abortion, it's more important than ever to secure a Democratic State Senate majority that can protect our progress and fundamental rights.
This campaign is about electing a State Senator who will be your voice in the room — no matter who you are, who you love, who you pray to, or what your zip code is. We're seeing an incredible response to our message on the ground, and now is the time to bring things home.
