In the News

I want to make sure you don't miss a minute of what I’m doing to fight for Arizonans each and every day. Check out my latest interview below.

Lesko Joins Fox Business

I joined Mornings with Maria on Fox Business to discuss how Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Rochelle Walensky listened to teachers' union president Randi Weingarten instead of the science. We also talked about the Department of Energy's efforts to ban gas stoves! My Save Our Gas Stoves Act would block this war on consumer choice! Watch my full interview below:

Lesko’s Save Our Gas Stoves Act Passes the U.S. House of Representatives

My Save Our Gas Stoves Act to block the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) from implementing its proposed efficiency standard for gas cooking products passed out of the U.S. House of Representatives with bipartisan support. According to the Department of Energy’s own technical report, 96 percent of the market share of gas stoves will not meet the DOE’s new proposed rule. That is a 96 percent ban. I am grateful for my colleagues’ support on this critical legislation. The U.S. Senate should expeditiously take up and pass this bill to stop this blatant attack on consumer choice. Watch my remarks on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives below:

Lesko Defends Save Our Gas Stoves Act from Democrat Amendment

I defended my Save Our Gas Stoves Act from an amendment that would delay this legislation’s implementation and would facilitate the Department of Energy’s war on natural gas. My bill upholds affordable and reliable natural gas as Americans’ preferred energy source. Watch below:

Lesko Defends Save Our Gas Stoves Act from Another Democrat Amendment

Lesko Supports Grid Reliability

In the House Energy and Commerce Committee's Subcommittee on Energy, Climate, and Grid Security, I asked what new authority, if any, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) requires to protect our grid reliability and if FERC would exercise authority over the Western Area Power Administration if it joins a regional transmission organization. Lesko Questions Nuclear Regulatory Commissioners

Nuclear energy is critical to grid reliability. In the House Energy and Commerce Committee's Subcommittee on Energy, Climate, and Grid Security, I asked if it would be better to use on-site inspectors and virtual technology at nuclear plants to increase efficiency and avoid duplicative work. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission should ensure safety regulations are efficient and promote our nuclear development! Watch:

GET THE FACTS: House Republicans Passed the REINS Act

The Biden Administration has abused their power time and time again by circumventing the congressional approval process in an attempt to pass their far left agenda. In just his first year, President Biden's regulations cost taxpayers $200 billion. Worse, in 2022, the administration proposed $1 trillion in new regulations. This is unacceptable. For this reason, House Republicans passed the REINS Act of 2023. This critical legislation will put an end to President Biden's blatant overreach and abuse of the executive branch's power. This bill will protect Americans from being subject to new additional costs by requiring any major rule proposed by the administration to receive congressional approval before becoming law. A major rule includes any rule or regulation that costs $100 million or more, increases prices for consumers, negatively affects competition, general statements of policy, or guidance from federal agencies. By doing this, Congress reasserts its legislative authority to act as a necessary check to the executive branch.

A constituent contacted our office after her mother passed away. She inherited an investment portfolio and filed a tax return as the estate holder. She had communicated with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for over two years to address the IRS' concerns and receive the refund owed to her. Our office contacted the IRS and worked through the outstanding issues, which resulted in a payment to the constituent.
