Team, the GOP attacks on democracy and voting rights are only escalating.

FIRST: After the 2020 election, Donald Trump’s Big Lie fueled Republican lawmakers in nearly half of all states to pass dozens of new laws making it harder to vote.

THEN: The Washington Post reported that “Black voting rights [are] under threat in GOP supermajority states,” as Republican lawmakers use racial gerrymandering and voter suppression to undermine the voting power of communities of color ahead of 2024.

NOW: It’s up to us to fight back to make sure Americans’ voices are heard – as A.G. Holder has said, “We’re going to have to go state by state to protect voting rights.”

Here’s the good news, team: Our efforts are working.

In states like Michigan and Minnesota, our movement helped Democrats take full control of state government for the first time in years. Now, Democrats in those states are working to expand voting rights.

And, just recently, the Supreme Court rejected the arguments brought by Republican lawmakers in Allen v. Milligan seeking to dismantle key protections of the Voting Rights Act.

Still, our challenge is that Republicans are more determined than ever to undermine the people’s voices by using tactics like gerrymandering and voter suppression to hold on to power. That means we can’t pull back on our efforts.
