June 17, 2023 The Scalise Capitol Report Government Control is Out-of-ControlAmericans are seeing this administration attempt to wrap red tape around every aspect of their daily lives, from the cars they drive to the stoves they use. This week the House passed several bills to curb the Biden Administration’s extreme efforts to restrict and regulate Americans’ daily lives.  I was pleased to support and led the effort to pass two different bills dealing with the Biden Administration’s attempts to ban gas stoves. We also passed a critical piece of legislation that would block the Biden Administration’s unconstitutional pistol brace rule and defend our right to bear arms and shut down another Biden power grab. Another bill – the REINS Act – says that if a rule or regulation by an unelected bureaucrat has a major impact on the economy, then it must go through Congress first. Time and again, we see rules and regulations coming out of agencies that nobody can explain and that have a devastating impact on families and small businesses. Many of these harmful regulations are costing families thousands of dollars a year, and I'll continue to fight them in Congress.
