John, you know I’ve never been one to back down from a fight. Usually, I’m fighting for my Democratic colleagues here in California and for a Democratic House Majority. But this time, I have to fight to hold my own seat in Congress.

As you know, Sam Liccardo, the recent former mayor of San Jose, is taking steps to run against me next year. I have no intention of backing down from this fight, and that’s why I’m reaching out today.
