“No matter our differences, we are all united by the Stars and Stripes,” Governor Glenn Youngkin

Over the weekend, Governor Youngkin commemorated the 247th anniversary of the Virginia Declaration of Rights by welcoming 50 new Americans from 39 countries at George Mason’s Gunston Hall. Congratulations! You are now part of the greatest country that has existed in the history of the world. 

This week, Governor Youngkin signed 24 bills that are helping honor his commitment to strengthen behavioral health services, ensuring every Virginian experiencing a behavioral health crisis will receive the Right Help, Right Now.

The Governor and First Lady joined first responders, law enforcement professionals, health care workers and Virginia families impacted by behavioral health challenges to celebrate strides being made.

Women Veterans Tea 

This week, the First Lady and Secretary of Veterans and Defense Affairs, Craig Crenshaw, honored female Virginia veterans and active duty on the 75th anniversary of the Women’s Armed Services Integration Act. 

Signed by President Truman, the legislation granted women an opportunity to serve, and today, Virginia boasts more than one hundred thousand women veterans — the most per capita in the nation. The First Lady thanked the women for their service and highlighted the new Gold Standard Digital Hub for veterans and veteran families.

Upperville Colt & Horse Show

The Governor and First Lady returned to the Upperville Colt & Horse Show and presented the second annual “Spirit of the Horse Award” to Barbara Riggs. The award recognizes a stand-out female leader in Virginia’s flourishing agriculture and equine industry. 

Barbara Riggs’ humble and passionate leadership has been essential to Upperville and the Middleburg community in which she lives. She was also the first woman to be Deputy Director of the Secret Service in its 139-year history, serving dutifully for more than 30 years.

This week, Governor Youngkin honored all the women who have dedicated their lives to protecting our country. Thank you for your service.

This week, Governor Youngkin celebrated Fireworks by Grucci’s $5.5 million investment which will bring 45 new jobs to Pulaski County. The Commonwealth is a strategic gateway to markets served by a robust workforce. Governor Youngkin thanked Fireworks by Grucci and Pyrotechnique by Grucci for recognizing these advantages and expanding their footprint in Virginia.
