Women Veterans Tea This week, the First Lady and Secretary of Veterans and Defense Affairs, Craig Crenshaw, honored female Virginia veterans and active duty on the 75th anniversary of the Women’s Armed Services Integration Act. Signed by President Truman, the legislation granted women an opportunity to serve, and today, Virginia boasts more than one hundred thousand women veterans — the most per capita in the nation. The First Lady thanked the women for their service and highlighted the new Gold Standard Digital Hub for veterans and veteran families.
