We’re a little more than halfway through June, and less than two weeks from the next all-important FEC quarterly fundraising deadline. Here are three simple reasons why meeting our goal is critical at this juncture in the race:
- The report we’ll file with the FEC will be public information for all to see, and our opponents will be looking closely to gauge whether we have the grassroots support required to win in IL-17. We need a show of strength heading into the summer.
- This will be the most competitive House race in Illinois, and one of the closest in the country, in 2024. Our fundraising targets are set strategically to give us an edge and put us in a strong position to win. We need any competitive edge possible in a district this close.
- The far right is working overtime to defeat me, and a strong fundraising haul would send a signal that their attacks are falling flat. Plus, it’ll show them we have the resources to push back against their ugly smears. We need to send the extreme-right a message.
For those reasons, we’re aiming to raise $40,000 between now and the end of the month. But we’re relying on supporters like you to fuel our campaign with generous contributions.
