Friend,

This Monday is Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, a federal holiday marking the day that over 250,000 Black Americans were finally freed in Texas by executive decree — over two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued.

To honor this pivotal day in history, LCV invites you to a virtual panel conversation with Black leaders across the country to discuss the history of Juneteenth and the issues that Black communities faced in the past, face now in the present, and what the future holds.

Our panelists will discuss the current political landscape, the impacts of environmental racism, and the intersectionality of issues that affect Black Americans. Join us to learn more about the racial justice challenges still being faced 158 years after Juneteenth, and actions you can take to dismantle racism in your communities.
