Dear John,

After considerable reflection, I have decided to end my campaign for Houston Community College District V. This decision is not easy given my passion for education and interest in public service. Nevertheless, the past few weeks have shown me that the timing of this campaign is not right as I have been unable to adequately invest in my key priorities.

Thus, rather than continuing on a path that is not true to my core, I have changed course. I will refocus on family, my upcoming wedding in six weeks, Momentum Education—the educational non-profit that I lead—and my health.

Although the campaign is ending, my commitment to education and public service remains unwavering. I look forward to dedicating myself to serving students through Momentum Education and ensuring every student succeeds. 

Thank you for all the support, and, to everyone who contributed, we will return all those contributions in the coming weeks.

Let's keep working together to ensure every student reaches their dreams!
