John,
Over the past decade, Gen Z and Millennial voters have become a central part of not just the Democratic electorate, but the electorate at large. In 2020, they made up 41.5% of the voting-age population and saved our democracy.
In 2024, they’re projected to grow to 48.5% — nearly half of the potential electorate across the country.
Youth voters are standing up and speaking out on the issues and policies that affect them, including climate and environmental justice, student debt, gun reform and abortion access. This electorate is going to change the future of this country. How soon that change comes rests on how many turn out to vote, and when and where they do it.
Every community deserves to have their voices heard in government, and allowing the youth to embrace their power by registering to vote and in turn voting their values is a big part of why we do this work.
It’s also what makes me so proud to say we helped make Pennsylvania one of just four states where young voters, especially youth voters of color, turned out at a higher rate in 2022 than in 2018. Will you donate $10 today to help us continue engaging with young voters and especially young voters of color year-round to achieve a more reflective democracy that works for ALL?

The New Pennsylvania Project (NPP) is a voting rights organization with a year-round primary focus on voter registration, civic education and mobilization. NPP centers historically disenfranchised and often neglected Black, Indigenous and other people of color, immigrant communities and the youth in our work. Through civic engagement, we ensure all eligible voters feel compelled to exercise their freedom to vote in the Commonwealth.
