It’s times like these that make it crystal clear why electing Dem AGs is so important to our country’s democracy.
Friend,
In a surprising ruling earlier this month, the Supreme Court came down against the state of Alabama’s congressional map after Republicans tried to draw districts to dilute Black voting power. This decision is great for Alabama residents, especially for Black voters, and it also could force other states to have to redraw discriminatory maps.
While this is a huge and unexpected victory for voting rights advocates across the country, of course Alabama’s conservative Attorney General Steve Marshall spoke out against the Supreme Court’s ruling, calling it “disappointing” and promising to keep fighting for these unfair gerrymandered maps.
Instead of fighting to make voting more accessible and easier for folks, Republicans like AG Marshall are trying to suppress the voting power of the Black community. It’s absolutely reprehensible.
Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and we can't stop now – will you chip in today?
