CPAC Stands with former President Trump 
President Donald Trump pled not guilty on Tuesday to thirty-seven counts of reported illegal retention and mishandling of classified documents. He gave a speech following his plea, in which, he vowed if re-elected to undo the deep state that has weaponized the federal government against political opponents, like himself. Matt and Mercedes Schlapp discussed the issue of the former president’s indictment on an episode of America Uncanceled and expressed CPAC’s unwavering support of President Trump and commitment to fighting the corrupt justice system. Matt Schlapp described the day as "a dark day in the country's history."

CPAC Applauds House Judiciary for Passing FAIR Act That Protects Private Property
On Thursday, the House Judiciary Committee unanimously passed the FAIR Act that implements reforms preventing the indiscriminate seizure of private property by the federal government under civil asset forfeiture. CPAC’s Nolan Center for Justice penned a letter to Chairman Jim Jordan commending his committee for the FAIR Act’s progress in preventing excessive government seizure of private property.

CPAC Rates WV, GA Legislatures
Ratings Reveals Shifts that Favor Conservatives
West Virginia and Georgia were the next states this week to receive their conservative ratings from CPAC’s Center for Legislative Accountability. The West Virginia legislature showed an increase in conservative ratings from the previous session and successfully tackled conservative issues like election integrity, tax reform, parental rights, and school choice. While West Virginia was shifting farther Right, the Georgia legislature showed Democrat legislators shifting farther Left but to the benefit of conservative representatives. A conservative majority in the state legislature was able to pass integral legislation on girls’ sports, the Second Amendment, and parental rights.
