Gov. Justice announces State’s 160th birthday celebration scheduled for noon on Tuesday, June 20, at Culture Center
|
|
Gov. Jim Justice is inviting all West Virginians to the State Culture Center at the Capitol Complex in Charleston Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at noon for a day of fun in celebration of West Virginia’s 160th birthday.
|
|
The first 160 people to arrive will receive a limited edition 160th birthday commemorative gift handmade by local artisans with the Black Locust Woodshop in Charleston.
Children and young adults who attend will receive a special gift as well.

For those unable to attend in-person, the West Virginia Day ceremonies will be broadcast live on the West Virginia Channel and the Governor's social media channels.

Gov. Justice joins Niterra North America Inc. to kick off major plant expansion in Sissonville

|
Gov. Justice and Niterra North America Inc., formerly known as NGK Spark Plugs U.S.A. Inc., held an event to announce the commencement of construction at Niterra's Sissonville, West Virginia campus, marking a significant milestone in their expansion efforts.
This investment enhances their operations and reinforces their dedication to the state of West Virginia.

The Sissonville campus, established in 1994, is home to the NGK Spark Plug and NTK oxygen sensor assembly plants. What began with 90 permanent jobs has now grown to over 500 full-time and 70 temporary positions.
The campus expansion will add 75,000 square feet of space and approximately 30 new job opportunities, further solidifying Niterra's regional presence.

Gov. Justice delivers $50 million check to WVU Cancer Institute to kickstart pursuit of official National Cancer Institute Designation

|
Gov. Justice delivered a $50 million check to West Virginia University’s academic and healthcare leaders in the pursuit of earning an official National Cancer Institute Designation – a first for West Virginia.
The funding was included in House Bill 2024 as part of the Fiscal Year 2024 budget passed by the West Virginia Legislature and signed by Gov. Justice.

Gov. Justice speaks at CAMC Mobile Medical Unit announcement

Gov. Justice congratulated Charleston Area Medical Center on its new Mobile Medical Unit, which will connect patients in hard-to-reach areas of the state with high-quality specialists in Charleston via telemedicine.
The new mobile unit was purchased with funding provided by the Governor in response to the COVID Pandemic and cost around $800,000.

Gov. Justice announces Jace's adoption, celebrates with him and family on weekly briefing
|
|
In 2020, Gov. Justice introduced the state to Jace, who was looking for a loving family. The Governor was incredibly eager to report Jace was recently adopted, and they celebrated together on Wednesday.
Jace's story is a reminder of the positive impact adoption can have on a kid, and the Governor urges West Virginias, if you have the means, please consider adoption.
