Conservatives are Winning the War Against ESG
Catherine Gunsalus, Heritage Action’s Director of State Advocacy, wrote an op-ed <[link removed]> this week that highlights grassroots efforts to stop ESG. Proponents of this woke ideology are on the defensive as conservatives racked up win after win in recent state legislative sessions.
“Over the last two years, the number of states that introduced anti-ESG legislation doubled, and the number of states that have passed those bills have nearly tripled to 11 states so far this year.”

ESG stands for Environmental, Social, and Governance. <[link removed]> It is a form of social credit scoring that puts Leftist ideology at the forefront of investment decisions. Meaning asset managers will invest YOUR money with companies that lack the greatest return on investment in order to appease a woke ideology.
The latest win against ESG came this week courtesy of the North Carolina General Assembly which passed House Bill 750. This bill clarifies the fiduciary duty of asset managers and prohibits them from considering ESG factors when making investment decisions.
Americans shouldn’t see their investment dollars used to promote an ideology that resents the values of the very people who made the initial investment. ESG must be brought to an end.

Supreme Court Decisions on Their Way
The Supreme Court’s current term is coming to an end. Over the course of the next two weeks important decisions will be released to the public. Here are a few key cases to keep an eye on. <[link removed]>
303 Creative v. Elenis – This case concerns Lori Smith, a graphic and website designer who wishes to not make websites for same-sex weddings. This case will be decided on free speech grounds, rather than free exercise grounds. This case will have a significant impact on religious liberty and could be a huge win for constitutional principles.

Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard and North Carolina – These two cases could mean the end of racial preference in college admissions, also known as affirmative action. These will likely be the most consequential cases involving racial preferences since 2003, where the Supreme Court erroneously decided in Grutter v Bollinger that race based admissions practices did not violate the Constitution.

Biden v. Nebraska and Department of Education v. Brown – These two cases could strike down the Biden administration’s student loan bailout. The Biden administration and Education Secretary Miguel Cardona claim that the 2003 HEROES Act, which was designed to provide financial relief for soldiers being deployed in the aftermath of 9/11 in the form of debt forgiveness, gives the current administration the authority to cancel hundreds of billions of dollars in student loan debt for 95% of borrowers.

These are just a few of the critical decisions coming down the pipeline.
These hopeful wins for the Constitution and the American people would not be possible without Sentinels’ dedicated work to confirm three constitutionally-minded justices to the Supreme Court during the Trump administration.
Call to Impeach Mayorkas
Under Obama’s eight years as president, there were approximately 3.54 million southwest border encounters. <[link removed]> Under Trump’s four year presidency, there were approximately 1.96 million border encounters. In just the first two years under Biden, there were 5.25 million encounters! And his term is still not over. Currently that number has climbed up to 7 million +.
What changed? Biden appointed Alejandro Mayorkas to be the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) which oversees border security and immigration law enforcement.

During his tenure, Mayorkas has <[link removed]> violated his oath of office by deliberately defying current immigration law, abused the authority of his office by enticing a flood of illegal immigrants to cross the southern border, and lied to Congress by withholding information to hide the nature and consequences of his policies
Americans deserve leaders who are both willing and able to protect the interests and safety of the American people. When unelected bureaucrats go rogue, it is the responsibility of elected officials to rein them in.
You can take action by calling your representative and encourage them to support the efforts to impeach DHS Secretary Mayorkas.

Biden is coming for your gas car. It’s time to start your activism engines before he takes them away.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued a proposed regulation that would require electric-vehicles to be 67% of all new cars sold by 2032 - a massive jump from the 6% levels they are at now.
This proposed regulation is legally required to be subject to a period of public comments. Every comment submitted before the July 5th deadline must receive a written response before the regulation can be put in place. If the Biden administration fails to adequately address concerns, it can delay or stop the rule from going into effect.

This regulation will have extreme negative consequences for American consumers. Not only does it violate basic free market principles by exercising extreme government favoritism, but it would also:
- Increase the cost of new cars
- Increase the cost and time of recharging
- Increase the cost of used cars
- Reduce the average distance a car can travel
- Benefit China over America as 80% of EV batteries are made by Chinese companies

Vehicles are an extension of personal freedom. 91% of American households own at least one automobile so it is safe to say that the repercussions from this incredible government overreach would be HUGE.

Executive Director of Heritage Action, Jessica Anderson joined News Nation on Thursday to discuss the values of America. On the Morning in America segment, hosted by Marki Martin, she and Reyahd Kazmi shared their thoughts on big-city vs small-town values, and which ones should be America’s guiding star.

Regardless of how people vote or what they may profess, the truth is that most Americans live conservative lives to one degree or another. It is the job of the conservative movement to help Ameicans become aware of this and bring their vote and voice into alignment with this fact.
In Case You Missed It
In a press statement <[link removed]> released on Monday, Jessica Anderson shared some exciting news about her plans to continue to grow Sentinel. <[link removed]> Starting in July, she will be working full-time at the Sentinel Action Fund to help conservatives win elections.
