In Washington this week, my colleagues and I took a new step in our journey to end gun violence in America. On Tuesday, we filed discharge petitions to force House leadership to bring commonsense gun safety legislation to the floor for a vote. When I came to Congress, I came to fulfill the promise I made to my son Jordan that I would spend the rest of my life devoted to making sure mothers and fathers across the county never had to go through the same pain that I did. I filed my discharge petition this week because people like you sent me to Washington to use every tool at my disposal to fight for solutions that will save American lives. |
