Dear John,
Our community is making an impact. We’ve sent over 300,000 letters to the CEOs of the major cable providers with a simple message: Deplatform Fox!
Now is the time to keep the pressure up!
With Trump indicted on 37 charges over his recalcitrant possession and sharing of classified documents, including defense plans and nuclear weapons information, does Fox report the facts? Of course not. Instead, Fox host Brian Kilmeade introduces Trump as “President of the United States” and they post an “alert” calling Biden a “wannabe dictator”.
This is not news, it’s dangerous and provocative propaganda. Click below to send a direct message to the CEOs of Comcast, Charter, Xfinity, and Cox Cable: Take these egregious lies and deceptions off the air!
There can be no doubt Fox is serving up bundles of disinformation. We know Fox will pay Dominion Voting Services over $787 million to settle their defamation lawsuit, while a second suit, brought against Fox by Smartmatic, is still underway.
Fox owner Rupert Murdoch admitted under oath that he knew his network was lying, and he let them do it.
This month Fox gave Trump more free publicity with a Town Hall hosted by a sycophantic Sean Hannity, who introduced his abdication of journalistic ethics by saying “it’s not my job to sit here and debate the candidate.”
Worse yet, if you subscribe to cable, YOU are helping fund this heap of lies -- even if you never watch it!
That’s because all the major cable companies actually pay Fox for the privilege of putting their lies on the air -- using your subscriber fees to do so! These payments are called “carriage fees,” and they supply Fox with a hefty source of guaranteed income.
The good news is, these fees are up for renegotiation right now. We must tell the cable companies to stop forcing their customers to subsidize right-wing hate, lies, and disinformation!
The cable companies could decide to treat Fox like almost every other cable news channel and stop paying Fox any carriage fees. They could offer a Fox-free cable bundle for those who refuse to subsidize Fox any longer. They could even decide to stop the spread of hate and disinformation by deplatforming Fox altogether.
We know how effective this type of intensive grassroots campaign can be. Last summer, Verizon and DirecTV both stopped streaming One America News altogether in response to a similar campaign of ours and our allies. Let’s make sure Fox is next. Send your message now.
We all know democracy will benefit when we deplatform Fox.
Thank you for sending your message now.
