Happy Pride!
Last weekend, Ayanna was thrilled to ride with the LGBTQ Senior Pride Coalition at Boston Pride. We should all be grateful to the elders who blazed the trail for all of our LGBTQIA+ siblings. But the fight for liberation is far from over — LGBTQIA+ rights are under attack from far-right Republicans across the country.
This Pride we need to stand up to extremists who threaten our LGBTQIA+ siblings.
Our LGBTQIA+ seniors deserve to age in community — free from discrimination. Our trans youth deserve to receive essential, life-saving, gender-affirming health care without fear. Every member of the LGBTQIA+ community deserves the freedom to show up in the world exactly as they are.
Whether it’s in the House chamber, on the steps of Congress, or across the MA-07, Ayanna is proud to be an advocate for love and acceptance, and to stand up against hate and vitriol.
We CANNOT go back in time. We will not let the hard work and sacrifice of our elders be rolled back.
