TDI adopts changes to licensing rules

The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) amends and repeals rules in the Texas Administrative Code's Licensing and Regulation of Insurance Professionals chapter. Amendments and repeals include:

  • Removing:
    • The subagent designation.
    • References to life and health insurance counselor and insurance service representative licenses.
    • The affidavit requirement for nonresident public insurance adjusters.
    • The requirement to report and register each branch location.
  • Discontinuing the registration for home office salaried employees.
  • Increasing ethics continuing education requirements from two hours to three hours, as mandated by law.
  • Changing the expiration date for a license issued to an individual.
  • Updating obsolete statutory references, obsolete references to the State Board of Insurance, and obsolete addresses.
