Friend,
I got my start in the political world as a grassroots organizer. I worked in Milwaukee to mobilize Wisconsinites to fight for our freedoms and have their voices heard.
Every day, I met inspiring people from all walks of life hoping to find a better future for themselves and their loved ones. Those experiences have carried me through my years in public service, and I’m honored to have the opportunity to return to my roots as an organizer in my new role.
Earlier this year, I was named President of Power to the Polls Wisconsin, a voting rights organization that serves diverse communities throughout Wisconsin and inspires voter turnout. In this role, I strive to empower communities across the state to use their voices and vote — particularly in underserved communities of color.
The unfortunate reality of many elections is that they only represent the voices of specific communities — we saw this in my Senate race and we’ve seen it across the country.
We need to invest in voters long before and long after the election to show them that their voice matters. That no matter their age, race, zip code, ability status, or economic status we care about them and their vote.
That’s what we’re trying to achieve at Power to the Polls.
We are working to mobilize communities to use their power year in and year out by showing up and meeting them where they’re at. We are empowering voters to defend their freedoms by educating Wisconsin voters so they can hold our elected officials accountable by showing up on election day and electing working class champions up and down the ballot. Because our vote is our voice and our voice is our power. It’s time we return power to the people.
So I am reaching out to you to join me in helping Wisconsinites use their vote to reclaim their power.
