In the last year, we’ve had more than 650 mass shootings and over 40,000 deaths, some even occurring in our home here in New Mexico.
The Biden-Harris Administration is already taking real, tangible steps to reduce gun violence, including running enhanced background checks, increasing mental health support funding, making schools safer, and expanding community violence interventions. Guns are the number one killer of children and teens in America, and Republicans would keep us on a dangerous trajectory leading to even more gun violence and senseless death.
Despite the nationwide epidemic of gun violence, Republicans continue to refuse to take this issue seriously. The only way we will be able to take serious action to curb gun violence is to make sure Democrats are elected to office so policies like commonsense gun reform legislation can be passed and implemented at every level of government.
