A couple of walkout Republican lawmakers returned to work yesterday, so I expect things to move very quickly until the end of session. Although the vote for HB 3630 of the Climate Resilience Package passed the House on Wednesday, the vote for HB 3409 has been delayed to early next week. Will you write to your lawmakers today urging them to vote YES on HB 3409 of the Climate Resilience Package? [[link removed]]
HB 3409 contains significant climate bills, including our priorities the Resilient, Efficient Buildings package (SB 868-871) and the Natural Climate Solutions bill (SB 530). HB 3409 was strategically crafted to leverage unprecedented federal funding for climate and clean energy. It will be vital to harnessing and translating these federal investments into meaningful near-term benefits for Oregon families, workers, and local economies, and it will ensure an equitable transition to a clean energy future for our state.

The Climate Resilience Package (HB 3409 and HB 3630) is a combination of almost 20 bills to reduce climate and air pollution; support healthy, affordable, resilient communities; and create family-wage jobs across Oregon. Two of our priorities, the Resilient Efficient Buildings package (SB 868-871) and the Natural Climate Solutions bill (SB 530), are part of this new package that will invest $100 million to bring home 10 times that—up to $1 billion in federal funding to Oregonians. This new package offers real hope — that’s why it already has the support of lawmakers on both sides of the aisle.
We all know that the climate crisis demands bold and broad action, and we’re so grateful for everything you have done to hold strong and advance meaningful climate action so far this session. We can’t afford to miss out on this once-in-a-generation opportunity to address the climate crisis.
