96 Another Big Week of Economic NewsIt was another big week for
the Hoosier economy.

On Monday, General Motors announced a $632
million investment in Fort Wayne to support the plant's production of
next generation trucks. The next day, General Motors announced a $3.5
billion investment alongside Samsung SDI in New Carlisle that will
create 1,700 new manufacturing jobs and over 1,000 construction jobs.
And the day after that, Nucor announced a $115 million investment in
Crawfordsville that will create up to 200 new jobs.

To recap, that's
over $4.2 billion, 1,900 new jobs, and over 1,000 construction jobs, all
announced in just one week!

And today, the Bureau of Labor Statistics
reported that Indiana's unemployment rate stands at 3.1% (compared to
the national rate of 3.7%) and the state's labor force participation
rate held at 63.6% (compared to the national rate of 62.6%). This marks
35 consecutive months that Indiana's unemployment rate has been below
the nation's.

It's clear that the Indiana Way is working despite the
Biden administration, not because of it.

That's why this past
session, statehouse Republicans doubled down on this winning economic
development strategy — strengthening our quality of life, investing in
our workforce, future-proofing our manufacturing sector, and enabling
our state to continue to compete and win major investments.

Under
conservative leadership, Indiana is growing in all the right ways.
Sincerely,
Chairman Kyle Hupfer

Governor Holcomb's Week That WasHistoric Investments in
IndianaGovernor Eric Holcomb speaks during a roundtable discussion with
business leaders in Portugal.
This week, Governor Eric Holcomb
announced plans for a $3 billion EV battery cell plant in St. Joseph
County. The new plant, which will provide 1,700 new jobs, is a
cooperative venture between General Motors and Samsung SDI, and will
open in 2026.

What he's saying: “This historic investment is further
proof that Indiana has turned it up and shifted into a higher gear when
it comes to helping create the future of mobility and more customer
options out on the open road," said Gov. Holcomb.

What this means for
Indiana: This joint venture represents the single largest economic
development project in St. Joseph County in 75 years. Projects and
partnerships like this will strengthen Indiana's position as a global
business destination.
General Motors also announced its plans to invest
$632 million at Fort Wayne Assembly to support the truck production
process, and another $491 million to upgrade its facilities in Marion to
be compatible with EV production.Construction will begin at the site in
the next year and will provide 1,000 jobs during the building phase.

 State Rep.
Olthoff: Smart Policy, Sound Investments Make Indiana a Destination for
Workers, Families From

State Rep. Julie Olthoff:

"We all know the classic refrain from
Field of Dreams: “If you build it, they will come.” And while this
year’s NCAA baseball tournament is peppered with Hoosier
representation, I am not reciting that quote for baseball purposes. It
turns out that this line is the embodiment of the work the Indiana
General Assembly has done to position our state as a top destination
for workers and families.
"When looking at the workforce challenge
facing Indiana, I like to break the solutions down into three buckets:
How do we attract talent to our state? How do we retain that talent?
How do we make sure that Indiana is a place where these workers want to
raise their families and stay for the long haul? If you can enact
measures that address these key points, then your state is going to
lead the pack when it comes to economic growth and standard of living.
I am happy to report that Indiana is checking all these boxes in
spades."

ICYMI: RNC Launches 'Bank Your Vote'
Initiative Last week, Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman
Ronna McDaniel announced “Bank Your Vote,” a nationwide campaign
focused on maximizing pre-Election Day voting.

Your Vote" will encourage, educate, and activate Republican voters on
when, where, and how to lock in their votes as early as possible,
through in-person early voting, absentee voting, and ballot harvesting
where legal.
Building on Republicans' absentee return rate, early
in-person voting, and ballot harvesting success in 2022, "Bank Your
Vote" is the next step to improve the overall number of pre-Election

course of his administration, Biden has promised Americans that "no one
making less than $400,000 a year will pay a penny in federal taxes."
Last year, Biden broke his promise not to raise taxes on the middle
class. This year, he's acting like it never happened.

The facts:
