Dear John,
Warm fuzzies are in the air — and not just because it’s almost Valentine’s Day! This week we’re celebrating all the good feelings that abortion access brings us by answering the question: What is Abortion Actually? To us, abortion actually is healing. It’s trust in ourselves and those we care about. It’s freedom. And it’s an act of love — for our families, our communities, and ourselves.
We’re pretty sure no one can resist a cute valentine (or galentine or palentine!) so we have a special offer for you — donate to support the National Women’s Law Center’s work and you can send someone you love one of our beautiful e-valentines!
Last year we launched the Abortion Rights Project, with the goal of protecting and expanding abortion access. One of the ways we’re making that happen is by partnering with 11 groups in a combined total of 13 states, supporting the important work they’re doing on the frontlines of the abortion fight in this country. We’re keeping up the conversation on abortion because we know that protecting access alone isn’t enough — we need to change the narrative so that we can create a world in which everyone can access abortion without stigma or fear.
Whether you have had abortions yourself or you love someone who has, most of us fall into one or both of those categories. Abortion actually is a common experience — and a majority of people in this country agree that it should be legal, accessible, and safe. Send a message of love today to show your support for abortion access.
Together, we can create a world where everyone has access to the abortion care they need, without barriers and without stigma. Because abortion actually is health care and freedom, abortion is normal, abortion is equality — abortion is love.
In solidarity,
