Below is attached a section of the Federal Register published June 15, 2023, that announces two virtual listening sessions on July 19, 2023 and July 25, 2023 beginning at 2:00 pm eastern time. The US Department of Agriculture is considering decoupling (changing the relationship of) Section 515 Rural Rental Housing loans and Section 521 Rental Assistance.? When a loan under a Rural Rental Housing program is paid off, the property is no longer eligible for the Section 521 Rental Assistance. By decoupling the two programs, the rental assistance will still be available allowing low-income residents to keep their housing units.?
