Dear friend,

Right now, we’re just a week away from our next FEC fundraising deadline next Wednesday the 19th. And with President Trump revealing his latest budget proposal, I’m reminded of what’s at stake.

Despite his budget’s hefty $4.8 trillion price tag, the President has proposed some of the deepest cuts ever to our social safety net programs including Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, SNAP, WIC, affordable housing, student loan relief, and more.

It’s a downright shame and the last thing vulnerable communities in Mississippi need right now.

So far, there’s been no word from Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith on where she stands, but given her hyper-partisan behavior and loyalty to party bosses, I wouldn’t be surprised if she fully gets behind this cruel budget despite the harm it would sow across this state.

Look, if I’m able to defeat Hyde-Smith this November and represent Mississippians in Washington next year, I guarantee you I will always fight for Mississippi’s working families. I will fight for every Mississippian's ability to put food on the table, access affordable healthcare, get a a high quality public education, and have the chance not just to survive, but to thrive. I will fight for a social safety net that gives people a helping-hand when they need it most and for programs that will lift our communities out of poverty and move Mississippi forward.

That’s what I’ll fight for, if you elect me as the next U.S. Senator from Mississippi this November. Will you help make it a reality by pitching in $10 or more before our next fundraising deadline?
