On Wednesday, February 12th, the House Judiciary Committee amended and reported H.R. 2214 - the NO BAN Act favorably to the House floor with a 22-10 vote.

Last week, Emgage Action and coalition partners met with members of the House Judiciary Committee prior to today's markup to stress the importance of holding the language and passing a bill free of harmful amendments. As amended, the NO BAN Act now officially includes the latest ban as enacted on January 31 by the Trump Administration. This historic bill will repeal President Trump's bigoted Muslim Ban and ensure that no future administration can abuse the power of the Immigration and Naturalization Act to instill any future blanket ban on persons based on religion or national origin. 

We are one step closer to passing the NO BAN Act in the House. We are immensely grateful to the members of the House Judiciary Committee who made today possible and to supporters like YOU.
