Why I'm running

As a refugee and immigrant, I know the great promise this country offers, and I want to make sure every American has the opportunity to seek out their American Dream. I'm running for re-election in 2020 for the same reason I originally launched my bid for Congress back in 2016: I wanted to fix a broken government, put people over partisan politics, and give every Floridian a fair shot at achieving the American Dream.

And over the past three years, we've made strides toward those goals yet the work is incomplete. Our government is still broken in so many places. Far too often, people are put on the backburner when it comes to Washington's priorities. And not every Floridian has the opportunity to achieve the fair shot in life they've been promised.

So we've got more to do. I'm rolling my sleeves up and running for re-election to continue the good work of serving the people of central Florida. Can you pitch in to help ensure I stay in Congress?

Where we are

Let me start with the truth. This will be the toughest race I've ever faced.

Win or lose, we'll be able to draw a straight line from the early months of 2020 to the end result in November. So if we can raise enough money now to open field offices, hire campaign staff, run TV/digital ads, and reach voters, we'll be better positioned in November to win this race and defend our House majority.

Republicans know their path to retaking the House of Representatives runs through this district. It's the reason nine Republicans have entered this race with an eye on defeating me, and it's the reason why national Republicans are willing to empty their wallets to bankroll those challengers.

To win, we'll have to dig deep. But it'll be worth it. I'm ready to dig deep, win this thing in November, and continue serving my constituents. Are you ready to stand with me?
