Dear Friends,

The Race Against Hunger is back! After 3 years of a virtual Race, we are so excited to walk and run alongside all of you once again for the 27th annual Race. We have so many great memories from years past, and we can't wait to make more.

Registration is now open! Join us for the 5K that strengthens food access across Philadelphia on Saturday, September 30 at the Navy Yard. Help us spread the word, and get your friends and family to join you.

Can't make it? We still have virtual options to walk, run and bike.

Consider forming your own team to fundraise for the Coalition Against Hunger and support our work building food security throughout the Philadelphia region. To do so, just email [email protected], and we will get your team set up!

Free Summer Meals For Kids & Teens

Now that the school year is over, free and reduced price school meals are no longer an option for thousands of kids in our area who rely on these meals. The Summer Meals Program is a great resource for families to help fill this gap and ensure kids continue receiving healthy, nutritious meals during the summer.

We're working to break down the barriers to access free summer meals and snacks for kids 18 and under by providing a dedicated Summer Meals Hotline (215-770-4659) and updating a Summer Meals Map weekly.

Hunger doesn't take a summer break. Households with school-age children experience higher rates of food insecurity in the summer. Our work with Summer Meals ensures kids across the Philadelphia region can access free sites in their neighborhood. Make a donation today to support our work, and help keep kids fueled for the summer!

SNAP Hotline In Action

A couple weeks ago, our SNAP Hotline received a call from a senior who recently had some medical issues. They were no longer able to leave their home, but they were in immediate need of food. After collecting some information, we realized that this person lived close to SEAMAAC, one of our VIP Partners who has a food delivery program. We called our contact at SEAMAAC and they were able to deliver food the very next day. This client is now on their weekly Thursday food delivery route as well.

Our SNAP Hotline can help anyone in Philadelphia, Bucks or Chester County:

  1. Navigate the SNAP application process
  2. Submit SNAP applications and annual renewals
  3. Advocate for wrongly denied or incorrectly reduced SNAP benefits
  4. Get connected to other local food resources
