Here’s a look at a couple of our candidates:

Heidi Drauschak is running for State Senate in District 35. Throughout her career, she has fought against government corruption, created plans to reform Virginia’s campaign finance laws, and persisted in giving everyday people access to the legislative process. Her opponent is incumbent Dave Marsden. He has a rocky history with labor, a record of questionable treatment towards corporations, and, perhaps most alarmingly, has made a name for himself as a politician who votes against animal welfare. He is considered a conservative Democrat – in other words, we cannot trust him to protect abortion access in Virginia.

Lashrecse Aird for Virginia's 13th Senate District. In 2021, the Virginia Education Association named her Legislator of the Year. Now, she’s running for State Senate. In her time in the House of Delegates, she fought to provide more funding for more schools and economic opportunities for her community.

Her opponent is Joe Morrissey, an anti-choice Democrat with a history of abuse who has publicly stated that he will vote against abortion access. In fact, he has already voted against protecting abortion access multiple times.

In Virginia, every single seat in the House of Delegates and the Senate is on the ballot. Building a pro-choice majority, and preserving VA as a safe haven for millions of women in the South, is no longer a dream – it could be a reality. But, electing conservative “Democrats” like Morrissey would set that back.

Susanna Gibson for Virginia House of Delegates, District 57. Because of her extensive experience as a Nurse Practitioner, Susanna is in a unique position to advocate and fight for women's reproductive freedom. She has sat with patients who have had to make difficult and extremely personal decisions and has been the only resource for families struggling to make rent or put food on the table.

Her opponent is Bob Shippee who has a record of working against expanding voting rights in Virginia. Susanna is running on a platform of prioritizing women’s healthcare access, gun violence prevention, and expanding voting rights,
